NAFI/NFI has become a leader in creating effective community-based programs for adults and seniors with mental illness, including those who are dually diagnosed or developmentally delayed. NAFI/NFI's adult programs include intensive respite and diversion, step-down programs, group homes, supervised apartments and independent housing.

NAFI/NFI's adult consumers and seniors focus on learning new community living and coping skills. NAFI/NFI provides an opportunity for consumers to live in supportive, family-like communities.

NAFI/NFI's adult programs also provide medical, psychiatric and rehabilitation services, as well as assistance in acquiring daily living skills, including household management, socialization, money management, symptom management, and medication education. The programs also provide recreational opportunities and wellness promotion. Consumer needs are reassessed on an ongoing basis, to ensure that appropriate levels of support and assistance are provided.
